Father,

It has struck me that one of the reasons "Postcards from the Edges" raised little response is that people are a bit stunned and perplexed that things have swung so far from the genuine victims of abuse being disbelieved and ignored and abusive religious shuffled from post to post and "deals" to avoid bad publicity for the Church to the other extreme of any religious accused of abuse being sacrificed to avoid the Church being accused of aiding and abetting all over again and sadly this has meant a complete denial of human justice for innocent religious falsely accused for the sake of money.

Though to be fair in some cases some drug addicted or mentally ill souls can come to believe they were abused when they are really experiencing false memory syndrome.
But you are very wise to leave it in the capable and loving hands of Our Blessed Mother.

Human justice is important but in the long run it is Divine Justice that counts and every soul who is unjustly treated in life will be richly vindicated by Divine Justice.
As always every blessing to you Father G; you are a great inspiration and light in a darkening world.

Dear Fr. Gordon,

It was finally great to be able to sit down and read quietly the two last posts. My past month has been so hectic and I am sorry I seemed to have disappeared from the radar ! This last post answered many of my questions too... I have one [which you do not need to answer right now] can a priest come and offer mass for the Prisoners ? If ever I could visit your country and prison, I'd like to offer mass, with you, at my side, at the altar !

Blessings and peace !

Dear Father Gordon

What an informative post! you answered many questions I wanted to ask.

I cannot believe that even the amount of books you have are limited. Do they think if you have too many you may pile them up and try to escape! :)

I would have loved to visit you when I come to America later this year but obviously that will not be possible I pray for Fr. Daniel Joseph Kennedy. May his soul rest in peace.

I always find your posts about your life and circumstances interesting, as a Non Catholic I am a bit scared to comment on Catholic matters as I would not wish to offend anyone with my complete lack of understanding of the Catholic faith.

Even with a Catholic priest friend here in the UK it is a hopeless cause. I Thank you Father for all the time and effort you put into these posts. I wish you could see how wonderful this site is. I think the prison should give you a laptop and an internet connection at the very least! :)

God bless you

I will continue to spread the word.

blessings

Wow! You certainly answered all my questions :-)

BTW, may Father Kennedy rest in peace.

Thanks also for the link. I look forward to learning more about Our Lady, the undoer of knots.

Hope you are well.

Dear Father Gordon, Thank you for your article answering all the questions you have received. I have wanted to ask many of them . You inspire us to carry our little crosses as you experience the Crucifixion. I will always pray for you and continue to tell others about you. Our priests are our everything. No priest, no Eucharist!!! As St.John Vianney taught us. God Bless you .

Dear Father G,

I do not see how anyone reading this latest post could fail to see that God is sustaining and supporting you. Given what you have gone through and continue to go through your resilience is supernatural and I have no doubt that the young priest taken so early is looking down on you from heaven and strengthening you as you carry your cross.

I had never heard of the title Mary Undoer of knots. It is so apt I know sometimes human circumstances can become so entangled and hard to unravel when the Dark One has managed to enter hearts and souls who then act out his plans which are always so destructive of human happiness and peace. Our Blessed Mother has the patience and she has the power over the Dark One. I have always found any priest with a deep devotion to Our Blessed Mother stays true to his vows.

Thank you for your example of truat and fidelity.

Thank you, Father, for giving us more of an insight into your life. I get the impression that life in prison in America is much harsher than in my own country. I am surprised to read that you are restricted as to the number of books you can receive and the complicated rules regarding visiting.

How sad to read about the death of the young Priest but so heartening to read that his last words were that he loved being a Priest. Recently my own Parish Priest (Pastor) told on his Blog of a meeting he had with a group of Priests all nearing retirement.

Talking about vocations they all said that they would actively discourage anyone who said they wanted to become a Priest. My Parish Priest was the only one who said that if he had his time again he would still be delighted to be a Priest. The others said that they definitely would not.

We need good Priests and must pray for vocations. I had so hoped that one of my sons would have a vocation but from the age of five he wanted to be a fireman and I respected his wish which was eventually fulfilled! When I mentioned this to a Priest a few years ago he explained how the Fire Service was also a vocation and I am of course very proud of him.

God Bless you Father
