Your penance for the sins of others is The Cross, Father. The sins of a few priests and some bishops are so heinous that they cannot possibly do sufficient penance alone. Our precious Lord has gifted you with the privelege of being on His Cross with Him in your perseverance. Your role as Alter Christi is an incredible honor. Your sufferings are a balm of Gilead for sin sick souls. Thank you for the example you give us of noble suffering and unrelenting truth telling.
Praying for your continued perseverence,
Jack Roach

I appreciate Mr. MacDonald's article. I hope that in the end all guilty will be exposed and suffer consequences. Only time will tell just how many are complicit in Fr. MacRae's unjust treatment and suffering. Justice will prevail, I hope and pray.

How many other priests have been accused unjustly and imprisoned or had their faculties as priests taken away? One has to think about this. Where great sums of money are at stake, unscrupulous people come out from under their rocks and take advantage.

Who will pay for the lives of priests who could not take the suffering and chose to end their lives? Our society has been too long oblivious to the plight of our priests. Now is the time for all concerned citizens to call attention to this injustice.

I pray for more people like Mr. MacDonald and the Catholic League's William Donahue to alert us all to the truth. I also pray for real victims of real abuse. "... forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us..."

I just read the bizarre story of Fr MacRae....referenced in the Catholic League Catalyst....on this website.

It all sounds unbelievable. Just finished praying the Chaplet of Divine Mercy for you. In California there have been many outrageous cases (true) against some priests but they don't serve prison time. I will tell my friends to pray for your defense.

God Bless You.

Aquinas is supposed to have once said it is important not to make an error at the beginning and it seems that the Church made a grievous error in settling with large cash settlements out of court because it has created great temptation for others to step forward and with the help of like minded friends cash in on the whole sex scandal situation.

It is very sad that in doing so totally innocent religious have been "literally "sold out " by the hierarchy and abandoned. It is ironic to me that in such cases they experience similar suffering to the genuine victims of abuse -not being believed, abandoned by those who consider them liars and/or an embarassment, and left to suffer alone and in silence.

The crucifix reveals the One who knows the suffering of false accusation and punishment and I know it will sustain Father MacRae and other innocent religious during their ordeal. I keep them in my prayers.
